Mykola Tomenko, Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, took part in the ceremony of award presentation to the winners of the successful community contest in Zakarpattia region. The ceremony was held in Svaliava district of Zakarpattia region.
The project was organized by the Ukrainian Social Investments Fund within the scope of the grant of the Japanese government. 47 of the most successful communities from all the regions of Ukraine were presented with the sets of equipment (medical, computer, audio and stage equipment).
Delivering a speech at the ceremony, M.Tomenko stated that public support was of great importance for the regions, where recreation and tourism were of priority. "Under the conditions of the financial and economic crisis, it is necessary to promote recreation and health improvement in Ukraine", - he stated and called on the celebrities to set the example and spend holidays in Ukraine.
The Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine commented upon the substantial preparation of Zakarpattia region for the season of summer holidays and stressed the necessity of demonstrating patriotism while promoting tourism and recreation.
"It is necessary to support our health resorts financially, not verbally. It will render a possibility to survive the hardships and promote development of the regions oriented at the treatment at the health resorts", - stated M.Tomenko.
